We are looking for active support in the field of mechatronic drive systems. As a research assistant (m/f/d), you will carry out cross-system optimization of the drive train of pumps. The aim is to increase efficiency as well as to minimize the load spectrum in the drive train.

The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of the leading research universities in Germany. As a reform-oriented campus university, it uniquely combines the entire range of major scientific fields in one place. The dynamic coexistence of subjects and subject cultures offers researchers and students alike special opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Initially as a part-time position (29.8725 hrs./week) for the first 6 months and from the 7th month as a full-time position (39.83 hrs./week).

We are looking for a research assistant (m/f/d) as soon as possible, initially as a part-time position (29.8725 hrs/week) for the first 6 months and from the 7th month as a full-time position (39.83 hrs/week) in the field of mechatronic drive systems. Within the framework of a research project, a system-wide optimization of the drive train of pumps is to be carried out. Within the framework of the project "HEAP", the steady-state and dynamic operating behavior of pump systems is to be investigated first. Based on the knowledge gained from this, approaches and methods that aim to increase efficiency and minimize the load spectrum in the drive train are to be designed and examined with the aid of simulation, and finally validated on a test bench.

If funding is provided exclusively by external third-party funding sources at the time of recruitment, the employees are not required to assume teaching duties.

Travel expenses, accommodation costs and loss of earnings for interviews are unfortunately not reimbursed.

At the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, we particularly want to promote the careers of women in those areas in which they are underrepresented and are therefore very pleased to receive female applicants. We also welcome applications from suitable severely disabled applicants and those with equal status.

Requirement profile

The applicant (m/f/d) has a master's degree or diploma in electrical engineering and information technology and has expertise in the field of topology, functionality and modeling of mechatronic drive systems. Knowledge of digital control and regulation of such systems as well as of the programming language C/C++ is available, expertise in the environment of electrical power supply networks completes the applicant profile. The ability and the basic interest to support German-language lectures, for example by exercises, are given. High motivation and the ability to integrate into a scientifically working team are expected.
